After Min Hee Jin's latest press conference against HYBE Labels, attention has shifted to Bang Si Hyuk's social media.
On April 25, CEO Min held a press conference at the Korea Conference Center in Seoul's Seocho-gu.
HYBE launched an abrupt audit on April 22, suspecting CEO Min and an executive member of attempting to cease the management rights of ADOR and NewJeans. Subsequently, they announced the interim audit results on the same day and stated their intention to report CEO Min to investigative authorities. HYBE presented conversations between CEO Min and ADOR's executive, Mr. A, via KakaoTalk as evidence of attempted usurpation of management rights.
During the press conference, CEO Min also disclosed some contents of KakaoTalk messages, quoting Bang Si Hyuk. Min Hee Jin stated, "Bang Si Hyuk would habitually say he wasn't confident in girl groups, so he suggested working together." She further stated, "BTS has a lot of female fans so (if a new girl group debuts) in Big Hit Label, it will be hard because of jealousy issues and such, so he suggested making a new label."
She also claimed, "He asked not to promote NewJeans before LE SSERAFIM debuts. When I asked why, he said, 'We should make people think Min Hee Jin's girl group is LE SSERAFIM. So NewJeans was boycotted (by HYBE) for 3 to 4 months and couldn't be promoted."
CEO Min also revealed messages exchanged with Chairman Bang after NewJeans first entered the Billboard Main Singles Chart 'Hot 100.' Bang Si Hyuk sent a message saying, "Are you happy?" CEO Min responded, "There's no reason I wouldn't be happy. I didn't understand because you're asking the obvious."
She added, "Chairman Bang didn't even congratulate NewJeans when they debuted. There was no conversation at all. After NewJeans debuted and entered the Hot 100, he congratulated them but then asked, 'Are you happy?' and I couldn't understand him. I thought, 'Why is he asking this?'"
She continued, "As you can see, his attitude was different when I first joined." She concluded, "There's a deepening gap between us."
After CEO Min's press conference, attention turned to Bang Si Hyuk's Instagram account. He has been known to post photos with HYBE Label artists in affectionate poses.
Chairman Bang posted photos with HYBE Label groups such as TXT, LE SSERAFIM, BTS, SEVENTEEN, fromis_9, &TEAM, and ENHYPEN, but did not upload any pictures with NewJeans.
Some have responded, "Isn't this discrimination against NewJeans only?" "Min Hee Jin must be disappointed," and "It seems like Bang Si Hyuk is wary of Min Hee Jin."
Following CEO Min's press conference, HYBE stated, "There are too many untrue claims made by CEO Min during the press conference," and released an official statement refuting all the claims CEO Min Hee Jin made.
