Actor Kang Tae Oh, returning to his fans after fulfilling his military duty, has confirmed his next project.
According to OSEN on March 18, Kang Tae Oh has decided to join the cast of the upcoming tvN drama, 'Potato Lab' (translated English title). Without skipping a beat, he's expected to dive straight into filming. 'Potato Lab' depicts a romance comedy set in a rural potato research institute, with Kang Tae Oh portraying an outsider protagonist with impeccable visuals and unexpected charms.
In his last project before enlistment, 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo,' where he played the male lead Lee Joon Ho, Kang Tae Oh captured viewers' hearts with his endearing and sweet portrayal, earning him the title of the "nation's sweetheart." The drama achieved an impressive viewership rating of 17.5% (based on Nielsen Korea nationwide), catapulting Kang Tae Oh into the spotlight as a true "rising star."
Starting his service at the 37th Division Training Center in Jeungpyeong County, Kang Tae Oh completed his basic military training and then took on the role of a drill instructor for the remainder of his service period.
Meanwhile, 'Potato Lab' reunites writer Kim Ho Soo and director Kang Il Soo from MBC's 'Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung' and is eagerly anticipated to air on tvN within the first half of 2024.
