A heartwarming story of a young child who attended IU's concert alone has been making the rounds online, melting the hearts of netizens.
On March 9th, IU held 'H.E.R.' concert in Seoul. Following the concert, a fan shared a story about a young fan who sat next to them. The fan wrote, "At the concert, there was a child who came to the concert alone next to me. She seemed like an elementary school student. She then gave me a snack and said it was her first time attending a concert. She seemed to have so much fun. I helped her gather her stuff afterward and said goodbye as she said she was going to wait for someone to pick her up. But then I found this note in the snack packet after I got home. I've been to so many concerts but this is my first time receiving something like this. I'm so touched."
The letter in the packet reads as follows, "Hello, UAENA! This is the mother of the child who came to IU's concert for the first time. It was lucky to get the ticket but unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the ticket for myself as the concert only allowed buying one ticket per person. There is another person who will accompany her but the setas are not close by.
To be honest, I was sickly worried about sending her off by herself. She is still young so I was worried about her being in danger or causing issues at the venue. But I couldn't cancel the ticket because I saw how happy my daughter was. I did my best to teach her about concert etiquette. But I'm still worried because neither her mother nor father have been to a concert.
If my daughter makes a mistake, please don't be upset and kindly let her know as she doesn't know better. And if she did make a mistake, it's because it's her first time attending a concert. I'm sorry and am asking for your understanding. I hope it becomes an enjoyable show for everyone and thank you for reading a long letter."
As the story spreads online, netizens are touched by the child's bravery and the kindness and support in the community. Some of the comments include: "Why am I tearing up"
"I'm choking up. I feel like people aren't even kind to kids these days, so that kind of worry is increasing too. I hope many more adults give young children opportunities to learn and grow."
"This is so heartwarming."
"I love reading stories about kindness among strangers."
"I hope the child made a great core memory."
First time attending a concert and the artist is IU? She went for high-quality right from the start. Future concerts she attends have to meet a pretty high standard to live up to what she's used to.
