A peculiar but funny story has been making the rounds among K-pop fans.
A fan account dedicated to RIIZE's Wonbin is closing.
Launched in January 2024, the @ponytailbin (Wonbin's Hair Tying Initiative) Twitter account dedicated itself to a unique cause, hoping for Wonbin to have his hair tied back. Beginning on January 9, the account posted the same thing daily, showcasing a man performing martial arts moves, while simultaneously advocating for Wonbin to adopt a ponytail hairstyle. Through persistent posts aimed at drawing Wonbin's attention, the account's steadfast commitment quickly captured the public's interest.
This unwavering dedication paid off after 49 days of continuous effort. On February 26, Wonbin shared a series of photos on his personal social media profiles, featuring himself with his hair stylishly tied back, much to the delight of @ponytailbin and its followers.
After the photos were posted, the fan account 'Wonbin's Hair Tying Initiative' shared Wonbin's photos with the simple caption "Close." Netizens pointed out an interesting coincidence: the day Wonbin chose to share the photos was also the birthday of the @ponytailbin account owner.
Korean netizens commented, "This fan finally succeeded," "This is so funny," "They were counting the days until Wonbin ties his hair," "This is hilarious," "They finally reached their goal," "That was so fast," "This is so cute," "Wonbin looks so hot," "His hair tied look so good," and "It was their birthday too? Lol."
This is what Kpop fans should be doing especially the ones that are chronically online instead of hating
