'Global Pop Star' Jungkook Adds Another Trophy from a Prestigious American Music Award to His Collection.
Jungkook won 'The Male Artist of the Year' at the '2024 People's Choice Awards' held in Santa Monica, California, USA, on the 18th (local time).
Having won 'The Collaboration Song of the Year' at the previous (2022) awards ceremony for the song 'Left and Right (Feat. Jung Kook of BTS)' released in 2022 with Charlie Puth, Jungkook has secured People's Choice Awards trophies two years in a row. At the time of winning 'The Collaboration Song of the Year,' Jungkook set a milestone as the first K-pop solo artist to win at this award ceremony.
The 'Male Artist of the Year' category at this year's People's Choice Awards featured stiff competition from stars like Morgan Wallen, who had the most number one spots on the US Billboard 'Hot 100' in 2023, and Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, and Drake, who were among the top 2 to 4 most streamed artists last year on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform.
Last year, Jungkook made his official solo debut with the release of his first single 'Seven (feat. Latto)' followed by another solo single '3D (feat. Jack Harlow)' and his solo album 'GOLDEN,' achieving remarkable success on various international charts and establishing himself as a true 'global pop star.'
In September last year, Jungkook won 'Song of Summer' with 'Seven' at the '2023 MTV Video Music Awards.' With this song, he also won 'Best Song' and 'Best K-Pop' at the '2023 MTV Europe Music Awards,' becoming the first Korean solo artist to win two awards, and received 'Top Global K-Pop Song' at the '2023 Billboard Music Awards.'
Jungkook is set to compete for awards in four categories at the '2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards' in the USA on April 1st, including 'Best Music Video,' 'Favorite Debut Album,' 'Kpop Artist Of The Year,' and 'Kpop Song Of The Year.'
Congratulations to JK 👏
