Kim Jung Hoon, a 44-year-old actor and singer, has been identified as the individual who caused a traffic accident while under the influence and subsequently refused to take a police breathalyzer test.

On January 7th, the Seoul Suseo Police Station reported that Kim Jung-hoon was booked for refusing a breathalyzer test, a violation of the Road Traffic Act, and is currently under investigation.

According to police, the incident occurred in the early hours of December 29th last year, around 3:30 AM, in Ilwon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Kim Jung-hoon, while driving, changed lanes and collided with a vehicle ahead of him.

Police, who arrived at the scene, requested Kim Jung-hoon to undergo a breathalyzer test three times, but he refused all requests. Consequently, he was booked under charges of refusing a breathalyzer test as per the Road Traffic Act.

Furthermore, after being voluntarily escorted to the police station for questioning, Kim Jung-hoon was allowed to return home. The police plan to summon him again soon to investigate the reasons for his refusal to take the breathalyzer test and to further inquire into the details of the accident.

Initially reported as a case involving a 40-year-old actor-singer, it was later revealed to be Kim Jung-hoon. He previously had his license revoked in July 2011 due to a DUI charge, raising concerns that this recent refusal to undergo testing was an attempt to avoid another DUI charge.

Kim Jung-hoon, who had previously paused his entertainment activities due to personal controversies involving an ex-girlfriend, has been drawing attention again amid this controversy. Although he has been holding fan meetings, he has not appeared on broadcasts. Furthermore, his recent New Year’s greetings to fans via his SNS, following his booking for refusing a breathalyzer test, has been criticized as being inconsiderate.
