In a recent interview on January 10 KST, 'Gyeongseong Creature' director Jeong Dong Yoon looked back on the time when lead actress Han So Hee sustained a facial injury during the filming of the Netflix series last year, highlighting her dedication to the role.

Recalling the incident, Director Jeong Dong Yoon shared, "I was mesmerized. I couldn't get closer. I was monitoring it and I heard an 'ack' sound." He went on to explain, "It was a scene where she was tied up in chains and struggling before encountering the monster. So Hee kicked so hard that she got hit in the face by the chains."

Despite the injury, Han So Hee's commitment to her role was unwavering. Director Jeong Dong Yoon noted, "She did it because she was sincere in her acting and fully immersed herself in the scene. Even after getting injured, So Hee apologized for not being able to continue filming because of the incident. When she eventually returned to filming, she performed exceptionally well."

Reflecting on Han So Hee's dedication, the director expressed his gratitude, acknowledging that it wasn't easy for her to endure such a challenging experience. He praised her professionalism and the excellent work she put into her role.

During a production presentation held in December of the previous year, Han So Hee also shared her perspective on on-set injuries. She remarked, "When it comes to injuries, it's not just me who gets hurt during action scenes; the stunt team, as well as all the actors, experience injuries. It's actually considered fortunate if I don't get hurt, but it's practically impossible not to sustain at least minor injuries. The environment is unlike any other, and regardless of how well I prepare, once we start filming, everyone works with absolute dedication."

She also acknowledged that one aspect she may have overlooked was differentiating between what she could and couldn't do to avoid injuries. Han So Hee recognized that pushing herself too hard without discernment could sometimes be a hindrance to the filming process. Nonetheless, her dedication and commitment to her craft shine through her performances, earning her respect and admiration from colleagues and fans alike.
