Singer Mina confessed a group of soldiers sexually assaulted her.
In the December 5 episode of 'Sisters at Play (tentative title),' singer Mina, Hong Young Joo, and Space A's Kim Hyeon Jung appeared as special guests.
Mina began her activities in the entertainment industry after garnering attention for her beauty during the 2002 World Cup, when she went viral after being photographed among the crowd cheering for the South Korean National team.
Subsequently, she debuted as a singer, quickly rising to fame and establishing herself as a popular female soloist in South Korea. Notably, her popularity soared among soldiers as she actively participated in performances at military events.
However, Mina confessed that she was sexually harassed by a group of soldiers.
She shared, "There was a time when they did a surprise handshake event at a unit, where soldiers who get to the stage first get a chance to shake hands with me. During that time, dozens of soldiers ran up the stage and surrounded me in a circle. Suddenly, one of the soldiers grabbed my breasts from behind me."
Mina continued, "The military police and my managers all were shocked and came running to me. They (the soldiers) were so young so they didn't get sent to military prison but it wasn't done by one soldier. They planned it as a group and committed it so the crime was serious."
If they're old enough to handle guns then they're old enough to handle the consequences of groping someone.
This is why women don't feel safe serving in the military.
