JTBC's next singing competition show will pick the best female vocalists for a powerhouse girl group

This time, it's a singing competition show for discovering the next powerhouse girl group!

JTBC will be premiering its next audition show, 'Girls on Fire', some time in the first half of 2024. Produced by the team behind 'Phantom Singer' and 'Super Band', 'Girls on Fire' seeks out female vocalists with undeniable passion for the stage and for singing. The title of the program was inspired by Alicia Keys' hit song "Girl on Fire", hinting at the fiery spirit of the most talented, most brilliant contestants.

The show will be hosted by Jang Do Yeon, marking the comedian's first ever solo MC role since her debut.

If this show *genuinely* focuses on making a Mamamoo-like group, then that could be awesome. We desperately need another group that is just vocals on fire all the time.

lol good luck with that. It's harder and harder to find really amazing vocalists through the audition programs these days bc there's an oversaturation of survival audition shows. It's more likely to find dancers and visuals. Companies are now turning to Japanese audition shows and worldwide audition shows because can't find enough contestants within just Korea anymore after nearly every corner has been searched with the endless amount of audition shows. But they might still have some luck if they are doing an older age range than the other shows.
