K-netizens were shocked to learn of the situation at Woollim Entertainment, the K-Pop entertainment company known for creating groups such as INFINITE and Lovelyz. Currently, Woollim is home to artists including Golden Child, Kwon Eun Bi, DRIPPIN, and Rocket Punch.
According to one recent online community post, the following reviews have been added to a verified employer review site by former employees of Woollim Entertainment.
1. "A Caged Scrap Waste Farm Full of People With Flaws"
Overall rating: 1.0 stars.
Positives
A filtered water dispenser with ice, gender-separated bathrooms... health insurance?
Negatives
There's one big shot who: noticeably excludes employees they don't like, spreads rumors about that employee, removes that employee from projects, discriminates label artists, focuses the majority of work toward the one artist that they like, etc. You're old enough that the employees you're working with are the same age as your nieces and nephews so what the heck...?
Every day goes wasted all thanks to a bunch of people with absolutely zero 'feels' for the industry all sitting around trying to scheme. Almost all of the sane people have long since escaped so other than maybe one or two normal people, the rest of the employees there are lunatics. They pay you pretty much minimum wage and mental illnesses as a bonus.
Stay cooped up in there for the rest of your life~~~!! It would be worse for society if you people were let loose. I feel really really bad for the company's artists.
2. "A Company Actually Running With This Little Effort? Yes, It's True. Albums, Lackluster. Contents, Lackluster. Personnel Management, Lackluster. It's All Lackluster."
Overall rating: 1.0 stars.
Positives
Coffee, a filtered water dispenser with ice, a 10,000 won payment for meals, is there anything else..? Doubt it.
Negatives
You will find real life Yeonjin, Sara, and Hyejeong at this company. Is this high school? No, it's a professional company so why are they playing bullies? It makes me puke seeing them discriminating their artists. The place is full of people with a terrible 'eye' for the industry so the quality of the albums is trash. I feel so bad for their artists.
What You Would Like To See Improved
Listen to what the young employees have to say and throw your greed away. Look back on yourself. If you've wronged others, it will come back at you. Lastly, just go and study what the other K-Pop idol companies are doing. (This company can't even do the most basic things that a K-Pop idol company should do.)
3. "Just When You Thought, 'How Can It Get Any Worse?', This Company Defies That Expectation"
Overall rating: 1.0 stars.
Positives
10,000 won payment for meals. A coffee maker. The bathrooms have toilets and running water.
Negatives
If your 'eye' for the industry is trash, at least try to listen to what other young employees might have to say, or make some other effort, but they absolutely refuse to. No matter what, their thoughts are always right, they have the best and most creative ideas. They haven't woken up from the good old days of the 2nd-generation which are long gone. Everything they do in the hands-on teams is a waste of time, it's not like the management director is doing anything either so might as well just stay at home. I think more work will get done if you just grab someone off the street and told them to do it.
It would be helpful if they didn't over-hype themselves so much, but I guess they don't have anyone, friends, acquaintances.. who can actually tell them the truth, guess that's why they're still getting away with all this nonsense after all this time?
They even lie and manipulate the fans' reactions and the performance stats. Even when there's data that the public can get ahold of and confirm for themselves, they will fabricate the numbers. Whether it's the corporate levels who fall for those lies, or the people who make up those lies, the level of intelligence here is too pitiful."
Netizens could not hide their shock and concerns after coming across the reviews, commenting, "All the artists, get out of there right now TTTT", "The fact that they ruined Rocket Punch tells you just how terrible these people are at their jobs", "I bet the only person who is making any money at this company is Kwon Eun Bi", "These are from June of this year?? Yeonjin, Sara, and Hyejeong??? OMG", "Seeing this, it really must have been a miracle of miracles that INFINITE became successful...", "Someone please get those artists out of this sad excuse for a company", "All they know how to do there is bribe and manipulate others", "Save Golcha... please TTTT", and more.
'They pay with mental illness for bonus'
'Bathrooms has got toilets and running water'
Hahahahaha. This is pretty damning.
