SHINee's Onew, who recently took a break from activities due to health reasons, made an appearance in the latest episode of 'Point of Omniscient Interfere,' appearing heavily emaciated.

In the new episode of the MBC entertainment program that aired on June 24, the members of SHINee were seen preparing for their highly anticipated comeback with new music.

On this day, SHINee's manager introduced the group's newest track, "HARD," and shared, "SHINee chose this hip-hop genre to show what SHINee is capable of." In the episode, all four members were seen practicing diligently.

After practicing, SHINee members and their manager took a break and reminisced about the past when they first debuted in 2008. While talking, Onew asked the members, "If we received this choreography when we first debuted in 2008, how long do you guys think we would have to practice?" Taemin responded,  "Probably around 2 months?" They talked about how they had to travel across the country to perform at various festivals. 

However, Onew garnered much attention from viewers on this day as he looked severely underweight.

Meanwhile, SM Entertainment posted an official statement revealing that Onew will be stepping out of this promotion due to his worsening health. The label explained, "After wrapping up the 15th-anniversary fan meeting in May, the members of SHINee most recently completed preparations for their 8th full album comeback and were beginning rehearsals for their solo concert in June. However, member Onew continued to experience a decline in his health and visited an expert for a checkup and a consultation, and there, he was advised to rest and receive treatment."

Onew also comforted fans and stated that he would be returning after recovering his health. He wrote to fans saying, "I think there may have been a misunderstanding or error, but I've made this decision to protect what I want to protect and because the future is more important. Anyway, please be happy and healthy! In order for us to spend meaningful happy days and tidbits of life together, I'll think and return in good health. Sorry for worrying you!"
