K-netizens debate if Big Bang fans should be angry with how T.O.P handled his departure announcement

AKP STAFF

Just a day ago, T.O.P confirmed that he had withdrawn from Big Bang.

In the comments section of his latest Instagram post, T.O.P personally responded to one fan who asked, "TOP did you leave big bang?" and he replied, "I've already withdrawn... I've already told you guys that I'm leaving, and I'm now facing a new chapter in my life since last year."

In a personal and unconventional revelation, T.O.P took to Instagram to publicly announce his departure from Big Bang. The unique declaration involved a series of photos where he prominently crossed out the words "Big Bang" from previously published article headlines.

The recent news of T.O.P's departure from Big Bang created a ripple effect amongst fans, as it was an unexpected revelation. While numerous articles had reported T.O.P's departure from YG Entertainment, none addressed his exit from Big Bang, leading to widespread surprise.

With the news spreading rapidly, a mix of emotions emerged among Big Bang's ardent fan base. Many fans expressed disappointment and irritation at the unconventional way T.O.P announced his departure, voicing their sentiments across various digital platforms.

However, the discourse among netizens did not entirely tilt toward criticism. There were some who questioned whether the outrage expressed by fans was appropriate to the situation. Their view is that while T.O.P's response to a fan comment might not be the most traditional way to announce his decision, it was still his personal decision, and it fits his personality. This group of netizens advocated for respecting the artist's choice, fostering a dialogue on the various perspectives surrounding this issue.

Netizens commented, "I understand why the fans are so mad," "This is the first time I've seen Big Bang fans say anything negative to Big Bang members. They must really be mad," "He did this so suddenly," "He really crossed the line. I'm from another fandom and it makes me mad,"  and "he just replies to his fan's question and says he withdrew?"

On the other hand, "He was always eccentric so it's not surprising," "They shouldn't really expect anything from him. He was always strange," "He always did whatever he wanted, what more can they expect," "It's his decision so fans shouldn't be too mad," and "I always thought T.O.P would do what he pleases so I'm not surprised or mad."

I mean, being mad at how he announced his departure isn’t going to change anything. I wish he had announced this when he left over a year ago apparently, but oh well.
