Recently, news media outlets reported that actress Kim Si Eun has been cast as the female lead of 'Squid Game 2'. This news report received a lot of attention, as many wondered if Kim Si Eun would have a chance at achieving popularity at a global level, following closely behind the steps of 'Squid Game' female lead and model Jung Ho Yeon.

Kim Si Eun received the rookie award at the '2023 Baeksang Awards Ceremony' for her stellar performance in the film 'Next Sohee'. Along with Kim Si Eun, other female leads announced for 'Squid Game 2' include Jo Yu Ri and Park Gyu Young, raising curiosity on their on-screen teamwork.
