The public has been further brought to shock when it was revealed how Yoo Ah In was able to administer heavy doses of propofol, which can be lethal when administered heavily.

On March 2, the police revealed that they are "suspecting that Yoo Ah In received propofol for simple procedures by exaggerating the pain and received sedation." 

According to reports made by MBC, the dermatology clinic, which Yoo Ah In visited for skin treatment in 2021, explained, "Yoo Ah In received care from us. However, he requested to be sedated for only painful procedures."

In response to the clinic's statement, Yoo Ah In's representative explained, "Yoo Ah In suffers from a skin disease. He has a 'phobia of needles,' so he only requested to be put under anesthesia during treatment."

However, the police and the public are not buying the excuse that Yoo Ah In needed sedation due to the fear of needles.

K-netizens were actually baffled by this excuse and commented, "How can a druggie say he has a phobia of needles?" "I would understand that he needed propofol for skin treatment but what does he have to say about cocaine or ketamine?" "So the only excuse he was able to come up with was a phobia of needles?" "So did he drink the propofol? If he has a phobia of needles, how can he administer propofol?" "Wow, his excuse was very thoughtless," "I guess he took propofol with his mouth and not through a needle," "He should just stay quiet and not ruin his image more with poor excuses like this," "He needs to keep his mouth shut. Phobia of needles...please,"  and "Phobia of needles...lol...propofol is administered through needles though."
