NewJeans will be re-releasing their 2023 Season's greeting.
This is an unusual phenomenon thanks to the popularity of NewJeans expanding outside South Korea.
On March 24, ADOR announced through the Weverse community and fan communication app 'Phoning' that NewJeans' 2023 Season's Greetings will have an additional release on April 14.
This decision was made in response to a flood of fans' requests for additional releases. In fact, 'NewJeans' 2023 Season's Greetings' has been sold out as soon as it was released in December 2022 and has caused a supply shortage among global fans.
The season's greetings package consists of a calendar, diary, playing cards (photo cards), and a photo book. There was high demand for the 54 playing cards that captured the charms of the members and became popular by word of mouth among fans.
It is very rare that an idol group re-releases their season's greetings just because there is high demand during the year-end and new year holidays, especially after four months have already passed since the initial release. This latest re-release was possible because NewJeans has presented a new paradigm for K-pop by sweeping major domestic and international music charts.
The rookie girl group's debut songs "Hype Boy" and "Attention" have garnered much popularity, and even the girl group's comeback tracks "Ditto" and "OMG" have been at the top of music charts for several weeks.
As far as pulling in non-K-pop fans into K-pop is concerned, I can’t think of a better group than NewJeans. If people thought Ditto/OMG was big, just wait until the next comeback. They’re gonna dwarf their previous success.
