Which previously-released K-Pop idol albums have been sold the most this year?

On an online community site, netizens shared a list of top-selling albums that were released in previous years. The ranking was based on the monthly Circle Chart (previously known as the Gaon Music Chart) recorded from August to October of 2022. 

The list is as follows:

1. BTS - PERSONA (2019) - 316,123 [number of album copies sold]

2. TOMORROW x TOGETHER - Fight or Escape (2021) - 282,222

3. BTS - Map of the Soul : 7 (2020) - 280,752

4. BTS - Tear (2018) - 274,004

5. BTS - Her (2017) - 249,976

6. TOMORROW x TOGETHER - Blue Hour (2020) - 207,918

7. Stray Kids - NOEASY (2021) - 205,175

8. BTS - Answer (2018) - 201,847

9. Seventeen - An Ode (2019) - 180,694

10. aespa - Savage (2021) - 173,299

According to the netizens, Red Velvet also sold over 204,000 copies, but the original poster could not find evidence based on the Circle Chart. If the group's figures are correct, then Red Velvet would be ranked 8th, after Stray Kids.

In the comments section, netizens were amazed how BTS's albums that were released about four to five years ago are still selling over 100k copies. They were also shocked to see that their album at #1 was released in 2019. 

Others also expressed wonder at TOMORROW x TOGETHER's impressive feats as well as Red Velvet's accomplishments. Some also pointed out that aespa's debut was a tremendous success for amassing those numbers as a rookie group.
