HYBE's sub-label ADOR launched a new girl group earlier this year and gained explosive popularity as soon as they debuted.
NewJeans soon gained the nickname of being the nation's "Little sister" idol group as they continue to receive much love from K-pop fans from all over the world. In particular, NewJeans has gained much popularity with their innocent concept as well as the music they released.
The girls made a surprise debut when the label suddenly released the track "Attention," which is also the title track of their debut album 'New Jeans.' The track garnered much attention since it was dropped as a surprise and soon brought attention to the rookie girl group.
When NewJeans released their full EP in August, listeners couldn't help but fall in love with the girls and praised how good all the songs in their EP were. One of the most popular tracks is "Hype Boy," and the song became more popular than "Attention."
Recently, K-netizens decided to discuss why "Hype Boy" became more popular than "Attention," and many fans joined an online community to share their thoughts.
One netizen shared, "They have the same listeners when they first debuted and now but I think it was the season in which 'Hype Boy' was released. 'Attention' has a more winter vibe and 'Hype Boy' has a fresh summery vibe. This is just my personal opinion." Other netizens commented, "I think 'Hype Boy' has a more sophisticated feel to it. I love the styling on stage and the girls look prettier," "I just really like 'Hype Boy.' I was so shocked when I first heard it," "I think 'Attention' grabs you at the beginning but 'Hype Boy' grabs you the more you listen to it," "In my opinion, 'Attention' is more for the summer and 'Hype Boy' doesn't have a season that it goes with," "Maybe because the dance challenge for 'Hype Boy' was more popular," "I just like both," and "I definitely think it's because of the challenge that went viral on social media."
'Hype Boy' just happens to be a catchier tune than 'Attention'.
