The progression of Korean variety programs has changed so much over the years. What's more, the trend these days is more talk-based programs versus a show focused on physical games. However, in the early 2000s-variety programs similar to "Running Man" were all the rage, so let's turn back time and bring back the nostalgia with a look at these five variety programs from a few years back!
1. "Heroine 6": Six of the funniest female comedians in the entertainment industry come together in a classroom where various guests make their appearances; you're bound to get great laughs. This is the program where the infamous "di bi di bi dib" game became super popular!
2. "X-Man": A show full of games, jokes, and even a talent show, "X-Man" was one of the most fun programs to watch over the weekends! Plus, having two of the greatest MCs, Kang Ho Dong and Yoo Jae Suk, you know for sure that this is going to be a super fun program!
3. "Love Letter": Back then, interactions between idols and idols weren't uncommon, so much so that they would be invited on this show and then be coupled up, playing various games to win the heart of the one that caught their interest! It's like a shortened rendition of the "Bachlorette!"
4. "Jihwaza": Taking on the theme of the past, this show surely had some unique games, like the one where you had an improv stage you'd never know what to expect!
5. "10,000 Won of Happiness": When $10 is the most amount of money you have, you become a lot wiser in how you spend your savings, as is the case with this specific variety programs wherein K-stars are given approximately ten dollars to be able to afford food, what was so great about this show was the amount of other celebrity guest appearances and viewers were able to get more a glimpse of what happens behind the scenes!
Of course, different times mean a different demographic, but it'd be great to see these shows return!
Shows from back then were fun. I loved Family Outing too, which was between xman and running man for YJS and KJK. I like shows where they go out and do things.
