ITZY continues to prove their global popularity!
Last week, fans were ecstatic when ITZY unexpectedly announced their first-ever world tour, named 'Checkmate.' The girl group has begun to reveal dates and cities in North America, where they will perform in front of their fans starting in a total of eight US cities. Beginning on October 26 in Los Angeles, the girls will then meet their fans in Phoenix, Sugar Land, Atlanta, Chicago, Boston, and New York.
On June 29 KST, the reservations for all the US stops of ITZY's first world tour, 'Checkmate' in North America began, and the tickets to all eight cities quickly sold out just hours after the official ticket sales started. ITZY will reportedly announce additional concert venues in the future.
With the news that ITZY's concerts had sold out instantly, fans took to social media platforms, demanding to let them perform in bigger venues, as most of the venues only have a capacity of around 5,000 seats. Thus most of the fans who wanted to see the group perform were unable to purchase tickets.
Before heading to North America, ITZY will kick off their world tour with performances at Olympic Hall in Seoul on August 6 and 7. In particular, there will be both offline and online paid live broadcasting through Beyond Live on August 7.
Meanwhile, ITZY will make their comeback with their new mini-album 'Checkmate' on July 15 at 1 PM KST.
I hope it wasn’t the resellers this time as well, I hate that the artists perform with a lot of empty seats
