Netizens shared their thoughts on Girls' Generation member Seohyun's decision to star in the Netflix original film, 'Love and Leashes'.
On February 16, one netizen created a post on an online community titled, "Why did Seohyun film 'Love and Leashes'?"
Here, the netizen wrote, "Really though, why...?" Based on the webtoon 'Moral Sense', the Netflix original film 'Love and Leashes' is a film that depicts the story of a raunchy romance between co-workers Ji Woo (played by Seohyun) and Ji Hoo (played by Lee Jun Young). When it was first reported that Seohyun would be playing the female lead role, it raised many eyebrows as Seohyun has upheld her 'innocent maknae' and very upright image throughout her career.
In response, some of the netizens commented,
"Because it's Netflix?"
"Maybe because Netflix would pay a lot."
"If she appeared in the film to show off her beauty, then it was a success. She is already super pretty in the film poster."
"Isn't it because she is trying to get rid of her idol image?"
"She probably filmed it because it's a Netflix original Lolll But it really was not entertaining, and I can't even force myself to sit through it."
"I turned it off in the middle of watching it Loll TTTT I really couldn't watch the scene where he, a human, barks like a dog Lolll..."
"Junyoung also doesn't have that kind of image, so I have no idea why he decided to film this. My friend likes him a lot, but hates [this film]."
"Since Seohyun has such a studious image, wouldn't lightly filming something like this add to her experience later on?"
"I liked seeing a new side of her so I liked it. It made me think that she can pull off these kinds of genres too, because her image as the maknae of Girls' Generation was too strong Loll."
