In the K-POP industry, we often hear girl groups with mega-hits, or we hear the news that they've topped various Korean charts, such as Melon. Yes, we see more girl groups on the charts than boy groups -- but what about album sales? 

Unfortunately, it's the other way around for the album sales, and because many fan clubs are centered around female fans, sometimes it's difficult for girl groups to sell an adequate amount of albums. However, there ARE still girl groups who are able to sell many albums, and some are successful enough to sell over 100,000 albums on their first week of release!

Today, we are going to be checking out the girl groups that were able to achieve this milestone of selling over 100,000 physical albums immediately after release. Check out this list and let us know your thoughts on it!

Wow, that's several groups that were able to achieve this feat! Girl groups have always struggled to get their album sales up -- now here, we are not saying they do poorly but relatively poorer than the boy groups, but we are so happy to see girl groups finally achieving that threshold and having lots of album sales! A pattern we saw is that more and more fourth-generation girl groups are achieving this feat, giving more opportunities for future idol groups.
