Long before BTS debuted, Big Hit (before rebranding to HYBE) had debuted a girl group named GLAM. However, after the disbandment of the group, HYBE focused only on their boy group and led to successful groups like BTS and TXT.
Currently, HYBE plans to release a girl group with a unique concept that will be run by their new label 'ADOR' along with CBO Min Hee-jin (Award : MNET Asian music award for best art director of the year).
It is said that the members are selected through the 'Plus Global Audition' in 2019, which has been held in 16 cities around the world.
With all the careful preparation that hybe has done, fans believe that this new girl group will become a rookie monster in the future. In fact, Bang Si-hyuk (Big Hit CEO) once said in HYBE corporate briefing 2020 that they were preparing to create a blockbuster girl group.
Furthermore, HYBE's new girl group will debut in the first quarter of 2022 with 5-9 members, and fans believed that two girls in the BTS - Permission to Dance MV would be in the line-up. Also, Ryu Han-bi (child actress) was rumored to be in the line-up. A community post about Ryu Han-bi joining HYBE gets almost 100k views in theqoo.
I eagerly await more information about the group and their eventual debut.
Waiting for Hybe's and YG's girl groups to debut. Seems like we have zero official new updates from both companies.
