Walt Disney Company's online streaming multimedia service Disney+ (Disney Plus) has confirmed its launch in South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Attention is focused on how Disney+, which already has more than 100 million paid subscribers, will make a difference in the OTT (online video service) market.
On August 13 KST, Disney announced, "In November of this year, Disney+ will launch its official services in South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan." In addition, around October, they are planning to expand its services by adding general entertainment contents in Japan.
Disney+ is an OTT media service that Disney introduced in the United States, Canada, and the Netherlands back in November 2019. Disney is competing against Netflix and Amazon Prime Videos with not only Disney's original contents, but also a variety of contents produced by Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.
