BTS Jimin once again proved his unrivaled popularity as his smash hit “Filter” topped this week’s World Digital Song Sales and U.S. Digital Song Sales on Billboard. “Filter” is the highest-ranking Korean solo song on World Digital Sales while it is the only Korean solo song which made it to the top 50 on U.S. Digital Song Sales for the week of December 12.

On December 8, Billboard released its weekly ranking called World Digital Song Sales and U.S. Digital Song Sales. Jimin’s solo song “Filter” spent its 39th week on the World Digital Song Sales and ranked 3rd, the highest-ranking Korean solo song therein. BTS dominated this list of the best international songs in the U.S. Filter charted together with other BTS’s songs such as Life Goes On #1, Blue & Grey #2, Stay #4, Telepathy #5, Fly To My Room #6, Dis-ease @#7, My Time #12 and Euphoria #17. Filter remained to be on top and charted even without active promotion and higher than the newly-released songs from BTS’s BE album.

Filter previously peaked at #1 on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales. It ranked 7th last week. Filter is one of the longest-charting solo song from the Map of the Soul: 7 album as it has been charting for 39 weeks. It did not leave the chart since it entered it from the time of its release. It continued to be the highest-charting Korean solo song on Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart’s history, staying inside its Top 10 for 30 weeks.

Further, Filter also re-entered on another Billboard chart, the U.S. Digital Song Sales for the week of December 12 at No. 35. The chart ranks the 50 best-selling songs in the U.S.A. for the week. Filter entered this chart which is dominated by popular songs by internationally-known artists like Megan Thee Stallion, Billie Eilish, Mariah Carey, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa, Britney Spears, Dan & Shay, and more.

Filter is the only song from MOTS: 7 album to chart on the U.S. Digital Song Sales and is the highest Korean solo song. It ranked together with other BTS songs such as Life Goes On #1, Dynamite #3, and Blue & Grey #7.

Filter has debut and peaked at #4 on U.S. Digital Song Sales. It is the longest BTS solo song to ever chart on U.S. Digital Song Sales despite the lack of promotion.

Filter is indeed one of the most successful BTS’s songs. It's receiving great response from the listening public and continues to dominate music charts on both domestic and international markets. It can be remembered that Filter is the first and only solo song to be nominated on Gaon Chart Music Awards as Song and Artist of the Year.

Congratulations Jimin!
