BTS Jimin sells out the most expensive BE merch after his brand reputation ranked first all idols for 16 months and among boy group members for 25 months

On November 23, the Weverse Shop has opened the pre-ordering for BTS’s official BE merch which consists of various items featuring, among others, handwritten messages by the members themselves and inspired by their amazing songs from the BE album.
BTS’s leader RM’s merch is a Long-Sleeve Shirt with RM’s handwriting inspired by the song “Life Goes On.” Jin’s merch is a Full-length Umbrella adorned with Jin’s handwriting likewise inspired by “Life Goes On” that is printed on both the interior and exterior of the umbrella. Suga’s merch is a Lyric Keyring with “Telepathy’s title and lyrics as handwritten by Suga printed on it. Meanwhile, Jhope’s merch is a Pin Badge Set with Jhope’s drawings inspired by the song “Dis-ease”. V’s merch is a Candle, a scented candle decorated with a print of V’s handwriting and with a fragrant scent that sets the right mood for “Blue and Grey”. On the other hand, Jungkook’s merch is a Muffler inspired by the song “Stay” with handwriting of Jungkook.
Last but definitely not the least, Jimin’s merch is a Pajama Set embroidered with Jimin’s handwriting in black color that perfectly matches the theme of “Fly to My Room” in the BE album.
Jimin’s Pajama Set is the most expensive among all the BE merch which is priced at $91.39 or more or less 101,629 South Korean won per piece. As expected, King of Kpop and Brand King Jimin has sold out his merch and many are still clamoring for a restock. Jimin once again the unmatched power of his brand both domestically and internationally.
The news of Jimin selling out his merchandise came after the announcement that he has topped brand reputation rankings among idols once again. On November 22, the Korean Business Research Institute dropped the Brand Reputation Rankings among Top 100 Idols (Male and Female combined) for the month of November.
For the 16th month, Jimin landed on the top spot garnering a brand reputation index of 9,463,655 with participation index of 1,042,655, media index of 3,031,907, communication index of 2,217,204 and community index of 3,172,239 for November by extracting 228,178,403 big data from 1,453 individual idol brands from October 21 to November 21. Jimin achieved a score of 81.06% positive reactions in the positivity-negativity data analysis.
Jimin’s brand highest-ranking phrases in the keyword analysis included “BE, military service and ARMY. Meanwhile, Jimin’s highest-ranking related terms in the link analysis are “charming, confident and together”.
Jimin has extended his record as the first and only idol to top the overall brand reputation ranking for 16 months.
During the previous week, it was also reported that Jimin topped the Brand Reputation ranking among members of boy groups. He holds the record of the best member of boy group based on brand reputation for 23 consecutive months and 25 months in total, the longest record.
Brand reputation is a tool used to understand the online habits of consumers which also affect their consumption pattern. It is being used not only to rank the popularity of Kpop idols but other celebrities as well like singers, actors and even models. It is also used in industries in South Korea like in pharmaceutical industries, cosmetics and many others.
In order to show their unending support, the proud ARMYs celebrated on Twitter and posted their congratulatory messages.
In South Korea, #우리지민또1위했네 (Our Jimin Won 1st Place Again) immediately trended in South Korea and peaked at #9 as they became loud and proud of their nation's It boy.
In Naver, the biggest platform in South Korea, News' real-time topics, "1위 방탄소년단 지민" (BTS Jimin First place) trended at #10 for 3 hours from 8:30-11:30AM along with Life Goes On, the title track of BTS’s new album “BE” which also trended at #9.
