SM is currently preparing to debut their new girl group this July. This will be the first girl group since Red Velvet made their debut in 2020.

There has been little confirmation on the specifics amongst the group. But representatives said this will be a big one to look forward to. 

From the looks of it, this group will potentially be a multinational girl group with members from different nations.

4 of the candidates we know being named Hina, NingNing, Jimin, & Helen.

1) Nakamura Hina (Gong Hina)

Hina is from Nagoya, Japan and has been a SM trainee for a long time, said to be the gem of the group. She is half Japanese & half Korean. She is said to be an all rounder being strong in vocal, rap, and dancing. Dancing being a main specialty for her

2) NingNing (Ning Yizhuo)

Chinese

NingNing is a Chinese native and has a powerful singing voice. She is potentially going to be a main vocal for the group.

3) Yoo Jimin

Jimin is a Korean native and has appeared in Taemin’s “Want” MV & Performances. She is said to represent the group as its visual.

4) Helen

Korean-Australian

Helen is an Australian native of Korean descent. She was a model before joining SM as a trainee. She is said to be a rapper & vocalist. 

These 4 are very likely to be part of the upcoming lineup 

It isn’t known how many members will be in it, or what their concept will be. But we will discover all of this with their debut coming.

Some fans speculated that SM may have used Loona as a test for their upcoming girl group, considering “So What” was produced by Lee Sooman.
