Seoul Police have made arrests in the 'Burning Sun' case.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency (SMPA) that's in-charge of the investigation held a press conference to give an update on the case and revealed their progress.
The SMPA Commissioner revealed, "We have booked 53 people for drug-related charges at Burning Sun and other clubs, 15 people for using/distributing drugs at Burning Sun and 29 people for distributing date rape drug GHB." He continued, "We have also made 13 arrests with regards to the case with 8 arrested for drug-related charges, 4 for using/distributing drugs and 1 person for distributing GHB."
He also addressed the latest charge against Seungri of bribing Officer Yoon with Big Bang concert tickets. He said, "We are tracing bank accounts and financial records of Senior Superintendent Yoon and other allegedly corrupt police officers, conducting a search and seizure of golf clubs and offices, and reviewing call records to investigate employees who have at least once exchanged a phone call or met with Seungri. We have acknowledged the public’s criticism that we have been making slow progress with the investigation to uncover corruption within the police. Even if it takes time, we will continue to give regular reports on the investigation progress to show that we are carrying out a fair and transparent investigation.”
On the other hand, Seoul Police decided not to arrest Burning Sun CEO Lee Moon-ho even though he had tested positive for drugs. As for Seungri, the investigation into charges of police collusion, bribery, drugs, sex trafficking, embezzlement and more is still ongoing.
