Actors Jo Jung Suk, Yoon Si Yoon, and Han Ye Ri will be working together for a new SBS drama series about a historical revolt which took place in Joseon in 1894, widely known as the Donghak Peasant Revolution.
The fictional retelling of this revolt through the upcoming drama 'Mung Bean Flower' (literal translation) centers around two brothers born from different mothers, as they take two opposing sides in a violent and complex rebellion. Jo Jung Suk has been cast in the role of the older brother Baek Yi Kang, and Yoon Si Yoon in the role of the younger brother, Baek Yi Hyun. Yi Kang faces discrimination from his family due to his mother's status, while Yi Hyun is a treasured maknae son of the Baek's, raised with elite education.
Han Ye Ri joins the two brothers as the sole daughter of a powerful family, Song Ja In. Starring these three leads, SBS's 'Mung Bean Flower' is expected to air some time in early 2019.
