The Northern Gyeonggi Police has apprehended 8 individuals who created and distributed unlawful deepfake footage using images of HYBE Labels artists, media outlets reported on April 11 KST. 

Furthermore, 6 of these individuals have been detained and will face charges for creating and distributing deepfake footage using Telegram chat rooms. 

Previously, HYBE Labels established a partnership with the Northern Gyeonggi Police to eradicate cyber deepfake crimes. The agency then requested a thorough investigation into deepfake content using images of HYBE Labels artists, cooperating with the investigation by submitting evidence and information about suspected individuals. As a result, the Northern Gyeonggi Police was successful in identifying the perpetrators. 

Meanwhile, fans can report cases of cyber deepfake crimes committed against artists directly to HYBE Labels.
