Actor Lee Dong Gun, who recently opened a café in Jeju’s Aewol-eup, is now considering moving into a new house—for the sake of his daughter.

On the April 13th episode of SBS’s variety show 'My Little Old Boy', Lee Dong Gun revealed that he’s been thinking about moving, and visited a new house located in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province. During the episode, he shared that his daughter Roa, now 9 years old, is at an age where she could start spending the night at his place.

“The house I live in now is only suitable for one person,” he said. “When Roa turned eight, I promised her she could sleep over at my place. I want to create a space just for her.”

Lee toured a three-story wooden house built by a carpenter who designed it specifically with children in mind. The cozy, wood-toned interior and unique spaces such as a loft and a hidden room reminiscent of Harry Potter drew admiration from cast members. 

The highlight of the house was a treehouse-style kid’s room, making it an ideal environment for a child. The house also featured solar-powered heating with an average monthly cost of just 20,000 KRW (approximately $15), surprising everyone with its efficiency.

The listed price of the house? 690 million KRW (about $510,000 USD), which Lee described as "a place I’ve had my eye on for Roa."

Lee Dong Gun was previously married to actress Jo Yoon Hee, with whom he shares daughter Roa. The couple divorced in 2020 after three years of marriage, and Jo Yoon Hee currently has custody of their child. However, Lee has maintained a close relationship with Roa, making regular efforts to spend time with her.

Meanwhile, Lee’s Jeju café recently held a soft opening. A message shared on the show read, “Hello, this is Lee Dong Gun. I’m launching my new café and will do my best to provide satisfying service and menu options. Please stay tuned for our official opening.”

With a new career path and plans for a more family-friendly home, Lee Dong Gun is embracing a fresh chapter in life—this time, as a devoted dad and entrepreneur.
