Renowned dancer and choreographer Lee Jung has officially joined The Black Label, a music and entertainment company led by famed producer Teddy Park, after parting ways with YGX.
On April 11, The Black Label announced, “We are pleased to share that we have signed an exclusive contract with Lee Jung.” The company praised her talents, saying, “As a dancer with exceptional choreography skills and powerful performance capabilities, Lee Jung has made her mark not only in K-pop but also on the global dance scene.”
They further stated, “We will fully support Lee Jung so she can freely showcase her talents. Along with The Black Label’s management, she is expected to expand her presence as an all-around entertainer.” The agency also asked fans to “continue showing interest and support for Lee Jung’s future endeavors across various fields.”
Born in 1998, Lee Jung has built an impressive career as a choreographer, collaborating with numerous top K-pop artists. She is especially known for creating the iconic shoulder move in ITZY’s 'WANNABE.' Her choreography credits also include hits such as ITZY’s 'In the morning,' 'LOCO,' Jeon So Mi’s 'DUMB DUMB' and 'XOXO,' BLACKPINK Lisa’s 'MONEY' and 'LALISA,' Sunmi’s 'pporappippam,' (G)I-DLE’s 'DUMDi DUMDi,' and TWICE’s 'Alcohol-Free,' 'I CAN’T STOP ME,' 'Feel Special,' and 'FANCY.'
In 2021, she gained widespread recognition as the youngest crew leader on Mnet’s dance survival show 'Street Woman Fighter,' where she led Team YGX. Despite her age, her commanding stage presence and original choreography set her apart from competitors.
While she had been affiliated with YGX, a dance label under YG Entertainment, she left the company following its official closure procedures in August last year. Now, she begins a new chapter under The Black Label—an affiliate company founded by Teddy and home to a roster of major artists, including Big Bang’s Taeyang, BLACKPINK’s Rosé, Jeon So Mi, actor Park Bo Gum, MEOVV, and producers Kush and 24.
