Before earning their spots in the 'Produce 48' project group, the three girls - Sakura Miyawaki, Nako Yabuki, and Hitomi Honda - were all active members of the J-Pop idol girl group AKB48.
In the September 24 statement, Off The Record Entertainment confirmed that it has been decided the girls will take a hiatus from AKB48 for two years and six months to promote as members of IZ*ONE. They will resume their AKB48 activities in April 2021.
Meanwhile, they are currently recording IZ*ONE's debut album with the other nine members. The group is expected to make their debut in October.
