The prosecution is reinvestigating late actress Jang Ja Yeon's sexual abuse case.
On June 4, Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office stated to OSEN, "Yesterday, we have received all records regarding Jang Ja Yeon's case and the investigation has started."
Back in March 2009, the actress known for her role in the hit drama 'Boys Over Flowers' committed suicide at the age of 29. Jang Ja Yeon left letters revealing she was coerced into sexual relations with entertainment heads. SBS reported that Jang Ja Yeon "hosted over 31 customers over 100 times."
The investigation on her case lasted for about 4 months. The accused figures including the president of a newspaper were all found innocent due to lack of evidence. The head of Jang Ja Yeon's agency and her manager were the only ones charged without detention.
With the statute of limitation approaching this year, many requested a reinvestigation and the request has been accepted. Many are hoping for a fairer ruling on behalf of the late actress.
