On November 4, tvN's new education variety show 'My English Puberty' aired its premiere episode.
On this episode, the celebrity cast members, or the "students" who will be taking on the challenge of learning English as a second language, met up together for the first time, getting to know one another and sharing their reasons for wanting to take up English.
When the maknae cast member and model Han Hyun Min appeared in front of the cast members, the other members first wondered, "Is he the teacher?" But the model introduced himself as one of the students, and shared, "I can't speak English either." Han Hyun Min continued, "I can only speak Korean; I've lived in Korea for 17 years." He then explained to his fellow cast members that his father was Nigerian and his mother was Korean, but despite the fact that his mother is fluent in English, he grew up only speaking Korean with his mother.
The model further surprised the cast when he had trouble reading the popular phrase "Keep calm and carry on", in addition to spilling that he'd once received a 12 out of 100 on an English test in school.
Have you ever scored a 12 on a test at school before?
