In 2016, FNC Entertainment joined hands with China's Suning Universal and established a joint venture for expansion in culture management business. The new establishment focused mainly on developing Chinese idol stars. The trainees have been receiving training in both Korea and China.

On December 28, it's reported that two of the trainees, Li Chang Geng and Ho Dong Dong, under FNC Entertainment's joint venture are participating in 'Idol Producer'; the Chinese version of 'Produce 101'.
Li Chang Geng is described as a trainee with excellent guitar, vocal, and producing skills.

Ho Dong Dong is known as the 'dance machine' who's also exceptionally skillful in rap and piano.
'Idol Producer' featuring MC Lay along with mentors GOT7's Jackson, f(x)'s Victoria, and more is set to start airing in January 2018.
