A's violent actions started after his girlfriend pressed the 'cancel' button while he was singing. The girlfriend suffered injuries after being punched in the face; two of her front teeth were knocked out by the immense force.
It's reported that Mr. A also tried to start a fight with police officials at the scene, making remarks such as, "You don't look so tough to me, let's see what you've got."
Regarding the case, the court stated, "It appears the crime was committed on impulse as the defendant had been intoxicated during that time. Furthermore, using such violent acts against a uniformed officer will not be tolerated and the charges will be a hefty one."
According to the police, a total of 8,367 people were arrested last year for dating violence. This is a significant increase from 7,692 in 2015. The numbers continue to be on the rise.
In the past 5 years, victims who faced death from abusive relationships tallied up to 233. Many demand a strong legal action to prevent further escalation.
