On July 9, around 6:30 pm KST, a girl whose name was withheld and identified as 'A' fell through an open veranda window from the 9th floor in an apartment complex located in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.

Police personnel stated that the child had fallen 9 floors after climbing through the veranda window of her home while her mother briefly went outside to throw away the trash.

Luckily, the girl only suffered minor injuries to the face after the fall.  Afterward, 'A' was rushed to the hospital via emergency ambulance where she was treated and was soon discharged from the hospital.

A police described the shocking scene, "Upon receiving the emergency call, we thought there would be a really big accident.  However, the girl was miraculously safe and sound."

The police also added the reason 'A' had likely survived was that the ground she landed on had become soft due to the pouring rain.
