The singer will commentate for the 2016-2017 NBA Championship Finals. Last year, J.Y. Park made his surprising debut as a commentator during the sixth match of the 2015-2016 NBA Championship games. Since then, many people have acknowledged him for his great commentaries, stating that he did not sound as if he were a celebrity, but rather a true basketball player. In regard to the response, J.Y. Park stated, "It's great that many people were fond of my commentaries, even though I am not a professional sports commentator. I feel honored to have been invited again." 

He named the "three-point shot success rate" as a point of observation. "Both teams live in three points and die at three points," meaning a team with more three pointers is more likely to win the game.
