Mnet said, "Currently, Jang Yong Joon is reflecting deeply upon his actions from when he was younger, and he asks for forgiveness from those he concerned with his actions. He told us that he would be stepping down from the show, and the staff accepted his stance. We will be supporting Jang Yong Joon's growth through music from afar. We apologize for worrying viewers without meaning to. We will do our best to create a program that can show the dream and talent of high school students. We are also attaching a letter that Jang Yong Joon wrote in apology."

The hand-written letter from Jang Yong Joon reads,
It's Jang Yong Joon from 'School Rapper'.
First, I bow my head in apology for everyone who was hurt and disappointed through my actions. I know I can't turn it back no matter what I say. However, I believe that I should say my stance and apologize, so I've decided to write this letter.
I want to apologize to my friends and parents that I hurt through my immature actions and words while I was in school. I was a sensitive teen going through puberty who was deciding between studying and music, and I also had a lot of friction with my parents. Those mental anxieties and dissatisfactions were expressed improperly to my friends and parents. I did not mean it back then either, but now that I look back on it, I am sincerely embarassed and apologetic. Also, I apologize sincerely about the words I said on Twitter through a moment of curiosity. But I did not meet anyone like that in any way.
Of course, I know that the act of making such a post and writing that mention is a large fault in itself. I was so embarassed and apologetic about my past immature actions that I couldn't even read the screenshots properly.
I do not think that my faults from the past could be forgiven through this letter. I am writing this to express my apology to the ones hurt by my fault.
I apologize once again.
