Reports of Canadian police officers using excessive force on an elderly Korean couple is drawing attention in Korea.
The incident occurred in a hotel in Coquitlam, Canada on October 27, where a Korean man in his 80s was dragged down the stairs while his wife had her arm twisted. A person at the hotel captured the entire incident on video.
It is reported that the police were responding to a phone call that said that the elderly couple got into an argument during a town hall meeting. The couple was ordered to leave but refused to do so.
The investigation into the police actions and the initial reports of the argument is still ongoing.
