'Scarlet Heart: Ryeo' released a cute behind-the-scenes clip of Lee Jun Ki and IU working hard to bring their chemistry alive on screen.
In the bts clip, we see the two trying to perfect a kiss scene, with Lee Jun Ki doing his best to put IU's mind at ease and giving her little pointers here and there. At one point, when IU kept pulling away, Lee Jun Ki begs her not to do so and just stay still. It must have been a bit awkward but they somehow made it work with perseverance and professionalism!

Lee Jun Ki also shares a cute little message for IU's birthday, telling her to "be happy" and that it's "an honor" to be working with her. Though IU acted all shy and giggly, you can tell that she was really touched by her co-star's compliments! Lee Jun Ki then joked that the kiss scene was his birthday present toward IU, laughing as he said, "I think I'm the only one who enjoyed that present."
