In 'Train to Busan', Choi Woo Sik takes on the role of Young Kook, a high school student and baseball player. When asked about being in his late 20s but still being cast as a student, the actor responded, "Just a few years ago, I had dreams of filming historical films with fake beards or trying out office roles. But when I think about it now, it was foolish thinking. Putting on a school uniform and acting in a high school role has its time. The reason I get cast in those a lot is partly because I still look young for my age."
He continued, "I'm human, so I get old too. I think I just need to always be prepared and show off my best image then."
Why was Choi Woo Sik drawn to Young Kook in 'Train to Busan'? He answered, "When you think of someone in their teens going through an attack, you automatically think that they're one of the groups who need to be helped, but both Young Kook and Jin Hee help other people. Those are appealing qualities that they should be proud of. That's why I was more drawn to [my character]."
Do you agree that Choi Woo Sik looks young for his age?
