TIFFANY - HEARTBREAK HOTEL (FEAT. SIMON D)
Tracklist:
1. Heartbreak Hotel (Feat. Simon D)
After ending promos for her successful solo debut, Tiffany of Girls' Generation has teamed up with rapper Simon D (ex-Supreme Team) on the track "Heartbreak Hotel." Co-written by Simon D, the song is part of 'SM Station.'
I think she's outdone herself here. If I was enthusiastic about her debut, then I'm positively ecstatic about this single. Obviously the focus is on Tiffany, who was given the longest part. Her delivery is smooth like cognac, able to reach different registers to serve the needs of the song. I raved about her before and I'll do it again -- I love that voice. Simon's flow is similarly superb, sounding annoyed, like he definitely wants to end it with her. His voice has that rough quality that brings a welcome edginess to this track.
What else can I say? This tune has it all. If you're a fan of either Simon or her -- give this a listen.
MV REVIEW
Swinging by the club, she sees her guy flirting with someone else. He notices her and doesn't seem to care. But when she starts doing the same, that's when he decides he doesn't like this game -- their glares say what they do not, and she has a ghost of a smile at the end...
I love this. Because she's solo, and nearly always in the club, it seems like it's natural when she's singing -- like it's part of the story. The storyline is convincing, even if the visuals are ominous. But I like that, there should be a sense of trepidation if you've not been there before. The love interest is Shon Min Ho, a model. He should definitely look into some acting gigs. The stares between Tiffany and him were pretty convincing.
The visuals are stunning, not to mention Tiffany herself. Eminently enjoyable, I give this high marks.
