Ryeowook revealed how he had it all planned out to Yoo Hee Yeol on the January 29 airing of 'Sketchbook,' "I selected a date for myself to enter SM before debuting. I had thought that I will audition on October 24, 2004 and pass, and it really ended up happening."

Yoo Hee Yeol returned with, "Did you know that you would be a part of a group with so many members?" Ryeowook jokingly replied, "I was totally cursing them out when I saw the articles that said there will be a 12 member group debuting, thinking, 'Will that actually work?'" 

The singer continued, "To be honest, the company was actually wondering whether it should place me in Super Junior or SHINee. If I hadn't joined Super Junior, then I would have been SHINee's leader." 

Ryeowook also admitted something a bit personal, saying, "Once, I used to feel upset when I compared myself to the other members, but I really love my voice. I fall asleep listening to fan-edited albums that only play my parts."
