Who was the most radiant K-Pop artist this year? Gallup Korea had the answer, at least according to their end-of-the-year survey. The survey targeted 4,200 people between the ages of 13 and 59, and took place three times - once in July, September, and November. In order to reflect the age-specific preferences, they asked 1,500 people between the ages of 13 and 29 in the nation separately about idol groups. The 95% confidence level indicates a sampling error of +/- 1.5% for all of them and +/-2.5% for idols. Onto the results!
The results were unveiled on December 17, revealing that none other than Big Bang, which was majorly active this year with their 'MADE' series, took the first spot with 15.5% of votes! From 2007 to 2009, the group had placed second in this category for three years in a row, once again getting second place in 2011, but now they have finally ranked first for the first time ever!
Very closely behind them were IU with 15.4% of votes. In third place was Girls' Generation with 11.9%. Fourth was trot singer, Jang Yoon Jung, with 8.9%, followed by SISTAR with 6.9%. Sixth was Lim Chang Jung, a veteran singer with 6.6% of votes. Both EXO and Lee Sun Hee got 5.7% for the next ranking. Gallup explained, "The time period for this year's investigation was up to November, so EXO's recent activities have been unable to sufficiently overlap."
Following were AOA with 5%, Lee Seung Chul with 4.9%, and A Pink with 4.2%.
