At the production briefing held at Seoul's Lotte Cinema on August 17 for her Japanese movie 'Assassination Classroom', Jiyoung told the reporters, "I was active in Japan for a year but it wasn't easy. It was really difficult. It wasn't made any easier because I spoke Japanese, and I thought, 'This isn't something that anyone can do.'"
She continued, "I also learned a lot in the past year. I even studied in London and grew up a bit. There were many times I was lonely by myself in Japan but because my family and friends were in Korea cheering me on, I was able to grow up on my own."
Jiyoung also mentioned that she was less lonely thanks to all her co-stars. She said, "The Japanese actors all supported and encouraged me. Even when I was practicing my lines alone, they would come next to me and give me advice by suggesting different ways I could read the lines. I thought, 'What a welcoming country.'"
It's great to see Jiyoung back in Korea! Let's hope she'll be wowing us with many more projects in the future.
