The rap competition show 'Show Me The Money' is getting more and more popular by the episode. The show began to make it into the mainstream last season, and this season looks like it's going to get even bigger.
'Nielsen Korea' just announced the TV ratings for July 3, and 'Show Me The Money 4's 2nd episode had an average of 1.9% ratings and a peak of 2.1% ratings. The viewer ratings are the combined average of views on cable TV, Wesung, and IPTV. Note that 'SMTM' airs on cable channel Mnet, so these are more than solid ratings, especially since rap and hip hop are typically a niche market.
In particular, the viewer ratings were 1.8% for both males and females in the 15-34 age bracket, making 'SMTM4' the top viewed show in their timeslot for the young adult age bracket!
And right after the show, many of the rap contestants shot up to the top of Korean search rankings, further proving how popular the show and the contestants are.
