K-pop artists always bring their A-game when it comes to stage outfits. Depending on the concept for each promotional single, we see a variety of fashion forward looks, so let's check out my list of top 10 stage outfits!
f(x)- Danger
f(x) consistently have fun pieces and accessories to match their electro sound, but my favorite outfits were for their single, "Danger" (although 'Electric Shock' and 'Hot Summer' are a close second and third). The bright colors, metallics, and bold patterns allow for each individual outfit to be unique, but they all mesh well perfectly.
2PM- A.D.T.O.Y.
For their "A.D.T.O.Y." promotions, 2PM kept it simple and classy with a monochromatic theme (although, I'm not sure I've ever seen 2PM wear loud neon outfits). They wore cut-off shirts, which I don't think anyone is complaining about, and the mature look fit perfectly with the soulful sound of their song.
Girls' Day- Female President
Girls' Day always finds a way to incorporate their stage outfits into their dances. My favorite outfit is the "tail shorts" they wore during their "Female President" promotions. The dance was very cute and flirty, and the shorts accentuate the point dance in a very clever fashion.
SHINee- Beautiful
SHINee houses multiple fashionistas when it comes to the red carpet and airport fashion, so it's no surprise that they look great on stage as well. For their "Beautiful" stage, they each wore statement pieces, whether it had bright colors or cool patterns, and their individual styles shone as well. Their music has matured, and so has their fashion. But they still haven't lost their SHINee kick.
2NE1- Missing You
2NE1 are global leaders when it comes to fashion. Although they definitely toned it down for "Missing You," I love the classy and conservative look they donned. There was a perfect balance of femininity and masculinity in their outfits that matched the tone of their song. Also, how could you not love Dara's hat?
EXO- Growl
The suit look has definitely been done before, but no one pulls it off quite like EXO. For "Growl," each member wore a schoolboy uniform and sneakers combination, but each member managed to look different yet equally great at the same time. Considering there are 12 members, that's quite a feat in itself. The hat that got passed around during the choreography was just the icing on the cake.
Girls' Generation- Gee
It's difficult to pick one favorite stage outfit when it comes to Girls' Generation, but I feel like "Gee" is a classic. It's perfectly simplistic and these girls can be attributed with bringing colored jeans back in fashion (although I also love their plain white-tee and jeans combination outfits). The look is cute, clean, and refreshing all in one.
INFINITE- Destiny
INFINITE always looks dapper, so it was difficult to choose my favorite stage outfit amongst their many great ones. However, "Destiny" stood out for me. They maintained their classy, yet quintessential K-pop look that they're known for, but managed to sneak in some patterns, mesh, and even a skirt into their stage outfits. INFINITE never goes overboard and as an effect, always look on point (maybe minus the bulletproof vest look).
KARA- Mister
The song itself is catchy, but the dance for "Mister" definitely made the song, and the outfit definitely made the dance. The tight white crop top, baggy colorful pants, and sparkly suspenders (even used as props) were the perfect combination, and the members of KARA pulled it off flawlessly. This stage is simply classic when it comes to K-pop.
Big Bang- Bad Boy
Every time Big Bang makes a comeback, I get really excited--aside from the fact that I love their music, their fashion is on a whole new level of awesome. For "Bad Boy," each member seemed to be doing their own thing in terms of fashion, but put on one stage it miraculously harmonized perfectly. Also, I really do like G-Dragon's furry coat--although, I could never pull that off in a million years.
That rounds out my list of the Top 10 stage outfits. Which ones do you agree with, and which ones did I leave out (I know there are some classic old school ones I missed!)? Comment below!
