What do 2PM, B2ST, MBLAQ, 4minute, T-ara, SECRET, After School, and SISTAR, all have in common? They are all confirmed or rumored to make a comeback this May!
2PM is the first male idol group to announce their official comeback for this coming May as you all know by now. The 'beastly idols' successfully wrapped up their Asia tour in Thailand on the 8th and are currently gearing up for their comeback. They also have fans doing a little detective work with their mysterious trailers. This will be their first comeback in two years since their last 'Hands Up' album which was released back in June 2011. During the past two years, the group has been overseas and dominating Japanese music charts with their hit Japanese album 'LEGEND OF 2PM'.
Following their promotions for 'Midnight Sun', B2ST has been busy focusing on their individual activities for the time being. But according the music industry insiders, it is very likely that the boys will be making a comeback mid-May as they're in the midst of album preparations. However, this comeback date might be pushed depending on Doojoon and others' individual activities, and the final album preparation process.
MBLAQ previously heated up the charts with their single "This is War" last year and have been focusing on their Japanese promotions ever since, as well as solo activities in dramas and variety shows. But apparently their new title track has already been selected and it's just a matter of time before their return as they're currently deciding on the specific comeback time period.
Now onto the girl groups!
4minute and T-ara will be kicking off the month of May with their comebacks! T-ara will be coming out of their 7-month hiatus as a subunit consisting of 4 members, Jiyeon, Eunjung, Hyomin, and Areum with the single "Country Side Life" on May 1st.
It's also been a while since fans got to see 4minute together on music shows following their "Volume Up" promotions in April of last year. Since then, 4minute's HyunA further established her successful solo career with her hit single "Ice Cream" and we also saw the debut of subunit 2YOON (Jiyoon & Gayoon) who released their country pop dance track "24/7". But not to worry, the group will reunite to release a new album early next month.
Apparently following after will be SECRET, who is rumored to release their new album mid-May. The group was forced to cut short their promotions for 'Talk That' back in December following their car accident so fans should be elated to hear that they've all recovered and are ready to return in full force.
Finally, rounding out the month of May for the girl groups will be After School, who has teamed up with hitmaking producer Brave Brothers for their upcoming single.
SISTAR is also mentioned as another girl group who is rumored to be getting ready to sweep fans' hearts again next month. In addition, although not a girl group, solo diva Lee Hyori has also confirmed that she'll be returning this May.
So get ready fan boys and fan girls because May is going to be a busy month!
