Eunji confessed she used to be scared of using the standard Korean dialect.
The A Pink member gained a lot of love with her Busan dialect in 'Reply 1997'. She gained so much love, in fact, that she took the title of 'satoori-dol' away from After School's Lizzy. However, in her new drama, 'Wind Blows in Winter', she had to put aside her satoori image and speak in a standard dialect.
At the press conference for her new drama, Eunji said, "The writer and the director also thought about if they should have me talk in the standard dialect or the Busan dialect. My confidence about my acting also depends on whether I use the Busan dialect or the standard dialect."
However, she revealed that she's become confident, saying, "I was scared because I wasn't familiar with acting in the standard dialect. I practiced it through a musical I was in, so I got more confident. I became close to the unnis and oppas, so I was able to act more naturally as well."
Her castmate Jo In Sung encouraged Eunji by saying, "You can see her liveliness, youth, and cuteness directly in the drama, so look forward to it."
The drama will premiere on February 13th. Since Eunji's satoori has become a trademark, how do you think she'll do with the standard dialect?
